Tommy Morrissey is proof-positive age doesn’t matter when it comes to philanthropy.
This one-arm, 7-year-old golf phenomenon has appeared recently on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel,” as well as “Ellen Show” and “Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey.” He’s a national and international golf star and the Guest of Honor for Signature Gives Back’s (SGB) Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, November 8 at the prestigious Gleneagles Country Club, Delray Beach, FL. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m.
Honorary Chair Marcia Lee Morrissey, Tommy’s mother, will join Event Chairs: Ivan Benjamin, Jr., Wendy Pressner, Rachel and Rob Gleichenhaus, and Melainey Gunning.
SGB organizes a myriad of volunteer and fundraising events, supporting an array of charities and local South Florida causes. It is a volunteer-driven organization utilizing the talents of participating REALTORS® from The Signature Real Estate Companies, based in Boca Raton, FL.
Most importantly, this event will help pediatric patients of the world-renowned Paley Institute. Tommy was born with one arm, and his charity, The Tommy Fund (via UnLIMBited Foundation), focuses on helping offset the costs associated with limb-saving surgery (e.g. travel, housing and food for the child and their families).
The charity tournament begins at 1 p.m., and the fun and excitement continue immediately following with a 5 p.m. cocktail reception at the on-site Glen Bar.
This energizing event is open to the public, and early registration is suggested at Golf.SignatureGivesBack.com, or by calling Melainey Gunning, 561.371.1107.
