May 14, 2014
Dear Signature Real Estate Companies,
On Friday, April 25th, charities from all across our area gathered at the Boca West Country Club for the annual Men with Caring Hearts Awards Luncheon. Eighteen local charities nominated a worth candidate to be recognized as the Male Volunteer of the Year. Before a hushed crowd of over 500, the Master of Ceremonies announced that Mr. Greg Peters, from Boca Helping Hands was the 2014 winner! For over five years, Greg has volunteered in our Development efforts to raise funds, write grants and find support for our programs.
Greg joins his father, Gary Peters, a 2012 recipient of the Men with Caring Hearts Award, becoming the first father/son legacy to be recognized. You may also recall that back in November, our own Job Mentor Program Director, Peggy Jones, was honored as the Woman Volunteer of the Year by the Junior League of Boca Raton. With Board Chairman Gary Peters being recognized by the Rotary Club of Boca Raton as an O.P.A.L. awardee in January, it has been a clean sweep of the volunteer awards for Boca Helping Hands.
I share this with you so you will know and appreciate the caliber of individuals Boca Helping Hands has working to serve those in need. Community leaders all across Palm Beach County are recognizing the incredible work we are going to meet basic human needs while we search for long term solutions to break the cycle of dependence.
Your continued support is yet another reason for our success. I cannot thank you adequately for your 3/15/2014 contribution of $900.00 to support BHH. As a member of our BHH family, I want you to be fully aware of and engaged in the work we do. Having launched Phase II of our Five Year Strategic Plan, we believe we are setting a bold course for our future, a future where we will focus all our efforts on helping our clients break the cycle of dependence. You are part of the solution.
On behalf of those we serve, I thank you again.
James S. Gavrilos: Executive Director
